Here’s a New One…

To add to the list of strange places where it occurs to me to write a diary entry, I’m at 30,000 feet on my way home from Cleveland where I was on vacation with Jennie and her family.

We spent four days in Warren, where Jennie’s father’s sister and brothers live, and three days in Columbus with Jennie’s mother’s sister. Her Uncle Terry (on her mom’s side) also joined us there. I met her paternal grandmother while we were in Warren, which was one of the reasons for our trip. She’s in a full-time nursing facility, and we doubt very much that she’ll be able to travel to our wedding, even if she still is with us.

Speaking of the wedding, we finally have the date and location absolutely, completely set. We had moved the May 31 date at Holy Ghost to June 14. Everything seemed fine, until we got a call about 3 weeks after that to inform us that the date had been double-booked by them, and that we were the second couple! We were unable to find an alternate date and time at Holy Ghost that worked, so after a lot of searching, we eventually booked the same date, June 14, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, which is on the Auraria campus.

As usual, nothing to report on the job front. Game Crazy was a complete and total bust, even after Heather took the test over for me and got 100%. She got fired a couple days later, and I got lost in the shuffle. Hollywood Video (and of course Game Crazy) have a retarded policy that district managers have to interview every potential employee, even at the store level. The Denver district manager, whom Jeremy and Tyler affectionately call “Mr. Personality” or “Shithead”, has never even called me, even with that 100%. Oh well.

I’ve given up my apartment and moved back in with my parents. That’s been stressful so far, to say the least. I think now that I’m mostly unpacked and there aren’t boxes in their way, it’ll be a little easier. Having to deal with the constant “Did you do anything useful today?” has gotten old already.
